| When I silk screenprint a piece of fabric for a dress, I'm only printing enough for one dress. This is not only because I do not have the facilities to print a roll of fabric but because this is the way I work. Quite often I allow the print to take form on the canvas, I like to take time over my work, ponder, mix the inks and sample the colours. It's only when the fabric is dry that a shape takes form in my mind allowing the dress to un-fold before me as I work away at it adding detail along the way. |
